Among the three most beautiful views in Japan, Higashi-Matsushima-City Oku-Matsushima district features the open sea. Matsushima is now becoming joined to the largest island in Matsushima-Wan. This ground is a part of natural beauty spot “Matsushima,” has shell mound “Satohama kaizuka, ”and the important cultural asset "Enzunowari." It also includes one of Japan's three biggest valleys, “Sagakei” and is a historic spot, featuring traditional culture.
Northeastern Izu offers a warm environment, including, an industrial hotel, a tourist agency led by a private, inn and fishermen. Agriculture, fishery, and sightseeing flourish here.
Green tourism was promoted in 1994 by the enactment of a law promoting farm village / fishing village stay-type leisure activities, and I recognized the necessity of Oku-Matsushima district coping with a change in sightseeing structure from recreation type to experience type.
In recognition of this need. Higashi-Matsushima Sightseeing Association was established as a network where green tourism can cope with experience-type sightseeing that supports individual efforts, by three persons of area tourist agencies, with approval gained in a general meeting of the Higashi-Matsushima-City Sightseeing Association held in May, 2002.
In September, 2002, six attendees enjoyed a lecture on developing green tourism instructors, employing a farm village/fishing village interchange activation mechanism

Purpose of the organization
I created a composite-type industry that organically combines agriculture, forestry, and fishery and the tourist attractions of Oku-Matsushima with traditional culture and strive to increase participation in interchange with the city. The purpose is planning promotion of the industry economy; the members approve of the purpose of the meeting and organize it with persons who can offer experience.
Membership comprises 21 individual members, four special member groups (Oku-Matsushima straw-rope pattern village history museum, A Kannon temple, house of Matsushima, Miyagi nature, north Akai direct marketing road), and four associate member. Fishery experience participants require guidance, as the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network uses a fishing boat.

It is an all-private enterprise activity and until now has not received an administration grant of Higashi Matsushima City. However, the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network has an appeal of participation, and the Business and Industry Sightseeing Section assisted in establishment of the Network, and later helped in creation of the experience tourism brochure.
As a basic policy, I do not count on administration grants to develop activities that take root in the area.
Because I feel it necessary to make the Network independent, I have been actively engaged, while always asking for close cooperation with Higashi Matsushima City.
Higashi-Matsushima-City Oku-Matsushima faces both the Pacific Ocean of Matsushima-Wan and the open sea of the bay.
It is rare for fishery workers not to have an experience of wind and rain, and few are disappointed in receiving visitors.
The experience menu of a cooperating group is abundant, and even measures against wind and rain are enjoyed.
Future cooperation includes contact with Sendai, a sightseeing spot of Matsushima in the neighborhood, and I think that visitors will be satisfied by Sendai.
After establishment of the Network, I laid emphasis on maintenance of the acceptance system, with participation growing from 4 in 2003 to 18 currently. I accepted a fishery experience plan as "beach living of the fishing village" by association of Corp. whole country farm co-op sightseeing sponsorship in three day. Furthermore, in an experience with JR East I received cooperation from a hotel of Matsushima from 2003, with 17 years of cooperation planned.
There are many managers, such as the manager of a private inn, the hotel, but because there are many people who do not have access to the Internet, I enrolled in the Japanese Inn Association, and use a Jaｌannet site and show various plans, including a fishery experience plan, by which members try to pull in customers. The fishery experience attracts 50 - 100 persons per year.
Inquiries are received every year from a travel agency and elementary and junior high schools, with a steady increase in inquiries.
The summary is possibility more than 3,000 with 317 in 2003, 897 in 2004, 990 in 2005, 1.057 in 2006, 2,420 in 2007, 2,256 in 2008, and 2,300 in 2009, with more than 3,000 per year possible in the future.
There are a lot of cases of lodging, and past activity shows that a local action gives result to elementary and junior high school groups.
Local activation is planned as well as past actions such as individual fishing on a boat, a pleasure boat, and the fishery experience plan by the action of the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network.
Furthermore, I receive public support such as Adviser Miyagi green tourism dispatch businesses in sightseeing (international green tourism) model business (two years continuation), 2008 in farm village community reproduction / activation support business (three years continuation from 19 to 21), 2007 in 2007 and place power in maintenance of the acceptance system.
In Miyagi, I participate in a Miyagi destination campaign, the action of each public business in 2008, and continue being active.
In addition, I joined a national meeting of community improvement group and concentrated power on the excavation of local resources; specifically, I used the driftwood which drifted in the shore and was able to add to the experience menu the making of pencil and driftwood art.
I contributed to local activation and gave a good example to other areas; on December 8, 2008, I did so in the "A farm village, a fishing village well-informed person meeting of food / agriculture / the farm village policy head office for promotion which stood up", and it was chosen by "the farm village a fishing village which stood up."
This was chosen in the campaign that took up the environmental problem of Asahi Beer in 2009 by one district in three Miyagi districts, and it was chosen as an Eco project in the promotion area. I purchased a sea - kayak to promote it, and started activity which I newly added to a new experience menu.
I have experienced the A child A farm village a fishing village interchange project, with 1-week interchanges of around 23000 schools, 1,200,000 fifth graders planned nationwide in the five years from 2008.
Actions are evaluated, and the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network authorized the child A farm village A fishing village interchange project measure business in 2009; I accept you and pour power into local maintenance.

Nature consists of resources, and, as one method to raise the sluggish regional economy, as for the action of the green tourism, there is the aspect that it is easy to wrestle with, but it is pointed out that the success depends on correspondence in the case of wind and rain and smooth cooperation with persons.
I cooperate closely with the house of a certain Matsushima, Miyagi nature, Oku-Matsushima straw-rope pattern village history museum in the same district and want to be active.
On the educational front, education at ease is currently being reviewed.
I carefully watch what kind of influence this has on field service and trips to experience education and want to adapt to circumstances.
Meanwhile, the car portal site which Toyota Motor Corporation administers for Gazoo mura is called "GAZOO." It is a new "experience type drive".
Five people participate as bloggers and wish to promote it positively in the future.
Because all the members engage in fishery, the activity to add added value to a harvest produced by fishery can enter the mind, particularly a brand of products particularly, with aims to pursue national development.
I plan to cooperate with an organization concerned, have good understanding of the activities of the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network, and want to introduce a homepage to plan effective communication of the past action.
I have caught sight of the action of the Oku-Matsushima area for eight years; the past steps have been slow, but have achieved results surely.
I want to continue the steady activity of the Oku-Matsushima Experience Network for local activation.
